I recently had the chance to join a group of professional photographers at a seminar by Sandy Puc (see why I love Sam at: http://expressionsphotos.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html) for her Bellies & Babies tour, where she shared her inspiration and imagination with us all. Sam is a non-stop dynamo who packs a lot into 5 hours! Now all I need are models.
Which brings me to my next point...
I need Moms! Are you pregnant? Do you know someone who is? I'm putting the call out. If you are interested in sitting for me I'll have a thank you gift you're sure to treasure. What? You don't have a bun in the oven? Any customer who sends me a referral I use will get a little thank you too.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Julie

A Christmas Sitting For Our Friend Pete

Many of you who know me have heard me talk about our family friend Pete Hallin. Thank you to those of you who continue to ask about him. The following is from Pete's brother-in-law Mike Davis:
This past October, life for the Hallin family was forever changed when Pete fell fifteen feet from a ladder after receiving an electrical shock while changing a light bulb. Pete landed on his head on top of a broken windshield and was paralyzed from the neck down. Since the accident, Pete has spent many days in the hospital and in a rehab center. Pete is currently living with his family in an apartment while their house in being renovated for handicap access.
Since the accident, Pete has regained very limited movement in his arms. However, he has no feeling from the neck down. The prognosis for Pete’s recovery is unknown. It may take up to two years before we know if or how much of his mobility will be regained.
Pete was the sole financial provider for the family and is now unable to work. While medical bills are generally paid for by insurance, there are many other day-to-day expenses, which are not covered such as food, gas, mortgage, clothing etc…
Pete’s family’s savings is dwindling rapidly. While our family strives to help as much as we can, it is very difficult to cover all of the costs without help from others.
That is where you come in. I hope that you will join us and participate in this great cause. The Hallin family would greatly appreciate your support.

June
I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.

Summer is here and filled with blessings. The kids are out of school. The days have been filled with glorious sunshine and our evenings with baseball. Thanks to this months models, Grant, Ella, and Madison. I hope you all come back and see me soon. What beautiful children.

July
Lovely July...with the evocative murmur of honey bees on the wing and the smell of sun tan cream.

Summer is my favorite of all the seasons. Yes, the humidity can make it brutal but there is nothing like the summer sun. I swear it makes me high. Make some time to find a spot with cool water or a shady nook and relax, it's too hot to work hard!
